Restoring the historical
Shell Gas Station
Rewriting History
In the heart of Little Falls, Minnesota, a stone's throw from the bustling downtown area, stands a testament to automotive history: the venerable Shell Gas Station. Its story begins in the early years of the roaring twenties, back in 1923, when it first emerged as the Williamson Shell. Initially conceived as a beacon of service, it fulfilled the dual roles of dispensing fuel and tending to the needs of automobiles.
With time, the station expanded its repertoire. Shortly after its inauguration, an automotive shop was annexed to its premises, ensuring that patrons could find both fuel for their vehicles and the expertise to keep them running smoothly. Under the stewardship of Roger and Pat Lubert, the station continued to evolve, transitioning into a hub for automotive repair alongside its primary function as a purveyor of petrol.
As the decades marched on, the station underwent a series of transformations, each leaving its mark. It was during the era of the 1980s that the station adopted the distinctive branding of Sinclair, adding another chapter to its storied history.
Yet, the winds of change are ever constant, and today, the Shell Gas Station finds itself on the cusp of yet another metamorphosis. The historic Shell Gas Station is undergoing a restoration to reclaim its original state, but rebranded to 'The Great River Shell'. In this latest incarnation, it stands poised to once again serve the community with the historic spirit of dedication and service that has characterized its existence for over a century.
